FMCSA Program and Regulatory Update

The session will provide attendees the most up to date news on all enforcement programs including CSA (Compliance Safety, and Accountability), an overview on recent issued rules (cell phone, HOS, medical registry), and the new transportation bill titled MAP-21. A question and answer period will follow.

Jack Van Steenburg is the Chief Safety Officer and Assistant Administrator for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Prior to his appointment, he served as the Director of FMCSA's Office of Enforcement and Compliance since May 2008. In that position, he led all enforcement programs that contribute to commercial vehicle transportation nationwide. Van Steenburg has received an associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Hudson Valley Community College, bachelor's degree in Accounting from Plattsburgh State University and a master's degree in Public Administration from Marist College.
