Geology, the Civil War, and the 99th Ohio Volunteer Infantry

Presented on Tuesday, December 3, 2013

NGWA CEO Kevin McCray will share the story behind his award-winning non-fiction book, A Shouting of Orders, A History of the 99th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. McCray will share how the book idea came to be researched and written. He will provide a summary of the regiment's experiences during America's Civil War - which included battles and encampments in the areas surrounding Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. You've heard about the book during the NGWREF auction. Now, here's a chance for a change of pace, some local Tennessee history and some American history during the 150th anniversary of perhaps the most pivotal year of the Civil War. McCray will have a limited number of copies of his book available for signing and purchase. He will donate $10 of each book sold during his talk to the National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation.
