Ethical Issues and Well Inspections by Groundwater Professionals

Presented on Wednesday, December 16, 2015

Preparing written reports based on inspection and sampling of water supply wells has created a diversification niche for some water well contractors. State laws generally dictate who is qualified to inspect and sample wells and such laws where they exist can vary significantly. The aspect often missing from the entire process is ethical considerations that could arise when contractors perform such inspections. Contractors who perform such services must balance responsibility to their client, the purpose of the inspection, any professional biases, and accurate, defensible disclosure of any deficiencies. This workshop will address the variety of considerations those who perform such inspections must consider, accurately detail, and reliably represent the integrity of the profession.
