Filtration Control in Drilling Fluids: What Is It and Why Should I Care?

Tuesday, December 6, 2016: 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
N101/N102 (Las Vegas Convention Center)
When we put a drilling fluid to work for us it performs several functions, all helping us create and maintain our borehole. Borehole stabilization is one of the primary functions of the drilling fluid. This presentation explores how a most often overlooked fluid property, Filtration Control, contributes to borehole stabilization and why it should matter to the drilling contractor. Ultimately the success or failure of the well, from drilling to production to financial viability, is affected by this one property.
