Difficult Well Problems May Require Well Forensics

Tuesday, December 5, 2017: 9:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m.
207 AB (Music City Center)
The majority of well fouling issues fit into the category of common problems and respond reasonably well to common well treatment technologies.  However, occasionally there are those wells that present unique problems and the cause and remedies are not readily apparent.

This presentation will review a variety of difficult problems potentially encountered in well operation and the various methods of assessment.  From a full understanding of the issues the process of finding the resolution will be reviewed including structural changes, operational modifications and bench test studies where applicable.

A number of real world case studies will be presented where well forensics was successful in identigying the source of the unique well problem and developing an effective approach to the resolution.
