Amitabha Mukhopadhyay has an M.Sc. degree in Geology (1966) from the University of Calcutta, India. He started his career as a petroleum geologist, and since 1985 has worked in the groundwater-related fields. His current areas of interest are groundwater flow and transport, groundwater pollution, artificial groundwater recharge, management of water resources, and application of computer methods in petroleum geology and hydrogeology. He has about 70 publications (journal papers and conference presentations) to his credit.
