N115/116 (Las Vegas Convention Center)
Participants will learn various methods and techniques for data collection, sampling, and equipment/instrumentation use in conducting research and/or collecting data in karst groundwater systems. Covered topics will include an overview of setting up a sampling or monitoring site, sampling techniques, analytical techniques, data logger deployment and utilization, software selection and usage, data processing, QA/QC methods, and other related skills. The course topics will include planning for high-resolution monitoring, grab sampling in the field, groundwater quality monitoring, hydrologic and geochemical monitoring, flood and hazard monitoring, study site security, and others.
