Mitigating Natural Disaster Impacts at Groundwater Remediation Sites - Discussion Session
N218 (Las Vegas Convention Center)
Recent upticks in hurricane frequency, hurricane intensity, drought conditions, and forest fire activity have raised questions among groundwater professionals regarding the influence of natural disasters on groundwater remediation sites. For example, hurricane-related floods have been known to temporarily shut down groundwater remediation systems, damage groundwater remediation equipment, and overall interrupt remediation programs.
To address this important issue, NGWA is considering crafting a product on Mitigating Natural Disaster Impacts at Groundwater Remediation Sites. Please join NGWA thought leaders in a discussion on this topic to help determine the need for and potential scope of a product addressing designing, operating, and shepherding groundwater remediation programs.
