Using an Application Program Interface (API) to Simplify Data Import

Presented on Thursday, December 6, 2018

Water professionals are often responsible for collecting and managing large volumes of environmental data. In the absence of on-staff technical resources, importing data into commonly used data management platforms and environmental databases can be impractical. A growing number of software providers are now simplifying data import through the use of Application Interface Programs (APIs). This workshop will cover developing your own system for import of data using a variety of techniques. The workshop will also discuss automating connections between cloud data services and an environmental database via an API, with real world examples.
