Applying the Principles of Cave Photography to Borehole Videos

Improve your borehole videos—and more effectively solve downhole problems—by learning the techniques developed by cave photographers. Boreholes are one of the most difficult places to photograph. A lack of natural light, narrow widths, large voids, suspended particles, and poor water quality make it difficult to get good videos. In addition, the areas are often under water, deep, and out of easy reach, with obstructions such as pumps and rocks further complicating access. Cave photographers, faced with similar problems, have developed techniques to produce excellent photos and videos under these adverse conditions. Applying their photographic principles with the proper use of borehole camera equipment, will allow you to produce better quality videos.
